What Yoribang is

Yoribang is a free recipe box. You can save recipes, change the servings, add notes and photos, and browse the Discover library of free recipes. Your recipes are private to your account unless you choose to share them (see Sharing recipes below).

Your account

• You must give a real email address you can read, and confirm it.
• Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
• You can delete your account at any time from the Account page. That removes your recipes, notes, photos, and saved sites.
• We may suspend or remove accounts that break these terms or put the service at risk.

Your recipes and content

What you save stays yours. You give Yoribang permission to store it and show it back to you, and to show it to the people you choose to share it with, and nothing more. We never show your recipes, notes, or photos to other members unless you share a recipe. Your personal notes and cooking notes are never shared.

Only save things you have the right to keep. When you save a recipe from another website, you are keeping a private copy for your own cooking. Don't upload anything illegal, harmful, or that belongs to someone else.

Sharing recipes

You can share a recipe with one member by typing the email address they use for Yoribang, or with every signed-in member. The recipe, its photo, and your nickname (or your name if you have no nickname) are shown to the people you share it with. Choose a nickname that is yours to use: don't pose as someone else or as Yoribang, and don't use offensive names. We may remove a nickname that breaks this. Your private notes are not. They can read it and save their own copy, which is theirs to keep and change; sharing doesn't give anyone the right to publish your recipe elsewhere. Recipes shared with everyone are visible only to signed-in members, not to the public or search engines.

• You can stop sharing at any time from the recipe's Share page. People who already saved a copy keep that copy.
• Only share recipes and photos that are yours to share. Don't share anything illegal, harmful, hateful, misleading, spam, or copied from someone else without permission.
• Members can report a shared recipe. We may hide a recipe from sharing, or turn off sharing for an account, if it breaks these terms. We'll never remove the recipe from its owner's own recipe box for that reason alone.
• If you share by email, Yoribang sends that member a short email with your name and the recipe's title.

Discover recipes

Recipes in Discover are original Yoribang write-ups, or old public-domain works, each marked with its source and license. You are welcome to cook them, share them, and save your own copy. The recipe sources pages link to other sites; those recipes belong to their authors and we don't copy them.

Cooking safely

Recipes are shared in good faith, but you cook at your own risk. Check ingredients for allergies, cook meat, poultry, and seafood to safe temperatures, and use your own judgment about timing and equipment. Scaled amounts are calculated automatically, so check them before you cook, especially for baking, spices, and salt. Cooking times and temperatures never change when you scale a recipe.

Please don't

• Try to break into other accounts, or into the site or its servers.
• Send spam, including through the invitation or sharing features. Only invite or share with people you know.
• Use bots or scripts to collect large parts of the site, or to overload it.
• Use the import feature to fetch pages you aren't allowed to read.

The service

Yoribang is provided as it is, without promises that it will always be available or free of mistakes. We work to keep your recipes safe and make regular backups, but we can't promise that nothing will ever be lost. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for losses from using the site, including food-related problems or lost data.

We may change or end features, or the service, and will try to give notice for big changes.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we'll update the date above. If you keep using Yoribang after a change, you accept the new terms.
