Fettuccine Alfredo
Fettuccine in a rich sauce of butter, cream, and Parmesan.

Ingredients
- 12 oz fettuccine
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 1/2 cups grated Parmesan
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Steps
Step 1. Boil the fettuccine in well-salted water until al dente. Save 1/2 cup of the water, then drain.
Step 2. Melt the butter in a large pan over medium heat. Add the garlic for 30 seconds, then the cream, and simmer for 3 minutes.
Step 3. Lower the heat and whisk in the Parmesan until smooth. Add the nutmeg, pepper, and salt.
Step 4. Toss the pasta in the sauce, adding pasta water until silky. Serve right away.
