Carolina Mustard Slaw

A bright yellow, tangy mustard slaw served on pulled pork sandwiches in the Carolinas.

Ingredients

  • 1 small head green cabbage, finely chopped
  • 1/3 cup yellow mustard
  • 1/3 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1 teaspoon celery seed
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Steps

  1. Step 1. Whisk the mustard, vinegar, sugar, oil, celery seed, salt, and cayenne until smooth.

  2. Step 2. Toss with the cabbage.

  3. Step 3. Chill for at least 1 hour.

  4. Step 4. Serve cold, piled on pulled pork or grilled sausages.
