Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 lb ground pork
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups marinara sauce

Steps

  1. Step 1. Soak the breadcrumbs in the milk for 5 minutes. Mix gently with the beef, pork, egg, Parmesan, garlic, parsley, and salt. Do not overwork.

  2. Step 2. Roll into 18 balls about 2 inches wide.

  3. Step 3. Bring the sauce to a gentle simmer in a wide pot. Lower in the meatballs.

  4. Step 4. Cover and simmer for 30 to 35 minutes, turning once, until cooked through (160°F). Serve with extra Parmesan.

Original Yoribang write-ups of Italian dishes. Use the best canned tomatoes, olive oil, and cheese you can find, since there is little else in many of these dishes. Salt the pasta water well, until it tastes like mild seawater, and save a cup of it before draining.
