Tater Tot Hotdish

A Midwest casserole of ground beef, green beans, and creamy sauce topped with crispy tater tots.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups green beans, cut
  • 2 cups creamy mushroom sauce or soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar
  • 1 lb frozen tater tots

Steps

  1. Step 1. Heat the oven to 375°F. Brown the beef with the onion in a large skillet for 8 minutes until no longer pink. Add the garlic. Drain the fat.

  2. Step 2. Stir in the green beans, mushroom sauce, milk, salt, and pepper.

  3. Step 3. Spread in a 9x13 dish, sprinkle with the cheese, and cover with tots in rows.

  4. Step 4. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes until the tots are golden and the casserole is bubbling and hot throughout (165°F).
