Cuban Sandwich

Roast pork, ham, Swiss cheese, pickles, and mustard pressed on Cuban bread until crisp.

Ingredients

  • 4 Cuban or soft French bread rolls, split
  • 4 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • 8 slices roast pork
  • 8 slices ham
  • 8 slices Swiss cheese
  • 16 dill pickle slices
  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened

Steps

  1. Step 1. Spread the mustard on the cut sides of the bread.

  2. Step 2. Use roast pork that is fully cooked through. Layer the pork, ham, cheese, and pickles.

  3. Step 3. Butter the outside of the sandwiches.

  4. Step 4. Cook in a hot pan under a heavy pan or in a sandwich press for 3 to 4 minutes per side until the bread is crisp and the cheese melted. Cut on the diagonal.
