Kluay Buat Chi

Bananas simmered in sweet, lightly salted coconut milk. A simple warm dessert.

Ingredients

  • 4 ripe but firm bananas, cut in 2-inch pieces
  • 1 can (13.5 oz) coconut milk
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/3 cup palm sugar or sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds

Steps

  1. Step 1. Bring the coconut milk, water, sugar, and salt to a gentle simmer, stirring until the sugar dissolves.

  2. Step 2. Add the bananas and simmer gently for 8 to 10 minutes, until soft but not falling apart.

  3. Step 3. Ladle into bowls and sprinkle with the sesame seeds. Serve warm.
