Crisp little Greek doughnut puffs drizzled with honey and cinnamon.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/4 cups warm water
  • 3 cups oil for frying
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon warm water
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts

Steps

  1. Step 1. Mix the flour, yeast, sugar, salt, and 1 1/4 cups of warm water into a loose, sticky batter. Cover and rise for 1 hour until doubled and bubbly.

  2. Step 2. Heat the oil to 350°F.

  3. Step 3. Scoop the batter with a spoon, scraping off with another spoon, into the oil. Fry in batches for 3 to 4 minutes until golden.

  4. Step 4. Drain, then drizzle with the honey thinned with 1 tablespoon of warm water. Sprinkle with cinnamon and walnuts.
