Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 cups vegetable oil for frying
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips, melted with 1/4 cup cream, to dip

Steps

  1. Step 1. Bring the water, 2 tablespoons sugar, salt, and butter to a boil. Stir in the flour all at once until it forms a ball. Let it cool 5 minutes.

  2. Step 2. Beat in the eggs one at a time until smooth. Spoon the dough into a piping bag with a star tip.

  3. Step 3. Heat the oil to 360°F. Pipe 5-inch strips into the oil and fry for 2 to 3 minutes per side, until deep golden. Drain on paper towels.

  4. Step 4. Mix the 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon and roll the hot churros in it. Serve with the chocolate for dipping.
