Tiramisu

Coffee-soaked ladyfingers layered with a light mascarpone cream and cocoa. Made without raw eggs.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups strong coffee, cooled
  • 2 tablespoons coffee liqueur or Marsala, optional
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 oz mascarpone
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 24 ladyfingers (savoiardi)
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder

Steps

  1. Step 1. Mix the coffee and liqueur in a shallow dish.

  2. Step 2. Whip the cream to stiff peaks. Fold in the mascarpone, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.

  3. Step 3. Dip each ladyfinger in the coffee for 1 second and line the bottom of an 8x8 dish with half of them.

  4. Step 4. Spread half the cream over the top. Repeat with the remaining ladyfingers and cream.

  5. Step 5. Chill for at least 6 hours. Dust with cocoa before serving.
